]]> Vijay’s rejection of Anbumani Ramadoss’s demand for a Deputy Chief Minister post for his wife Sowmiya adds tension to the coalition talks in Tamil Nadu. The TVK secured 106 seats in the recent elections but needs 12 more seats to form a government with a majority.

Anbumani Ramadoss is the leader of PMK. His party won 5 seats in the elections. Vijay leads the Tamil Nadu Victory Alliance (TVK).

Vijay has requested a 14-day deadline to prove majority. He wrote to Governor Rajendra Arlekar requesting to form the government. The 2026 Assembly election marks a significant turning point in Tamil Nadu politics.

TVK is currently in talks with Congress, CPI, CPM, and VCK to solidify their political alliance. Vijay plans to meet MLAs and the Governor to claim the right to form the government.
