]]> Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has disrupted the traditional dominance of the Dravidian parties in Tamil Nadu by emerging as the single largest party in the 2026 assembly elections. The election took place on May 4, 2026. MK Stalin of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam lost his seat in Kolathur.

Key election results:

  • Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam won 85 seats and leads on 22 out of 234 constituencies.
  • Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam secured 41 seats and leads on 18.
  • All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 32 seats and leads on 15.
