Aayushmaan Sethi lost Rs 87,000 in a credit card fraud. The scam involved a deceptive seven-day free trial that charged him for a full year’s subscription. Initially, he approved a $0 transaction before the larger amount was deducted.
Archana Puran Singh advised him to cancel the card and contact the bank. Parmeet Sethi suggested he should cancel the payment instead of the card. Aayushmaan had previously lost Rs 80,000 from his PlayStation account in a similar incident.
He expressed frustration at being unable to reach customer support, stating he was only speaking to AI. “They are making me speak to the AI only,” he said. This highlights ongoing issues in digital payments and customer service.
The family reacted with both concern and humor during their vlog. Aayushmaan was told it would take 48 hours for a bank response. “I have no option. They said it will take them 48 hours to respond,” he noted.
His experience serves as a warning about free trial scams and subscription traps. Consumers must remain vigilant with digital transactions. Awareness can prevent significant financial losses in the future.
