Baramulla Police recovered approximately 1.7 kilograms of charas in the Chichilora area of Kunzer during a routine patrol on March 24. One suspect was arrested, while another managed to escape.
The operation began when police intercepted a suspicious vehicle (HR55AD2930), leading to the recovery of 27 grams of charas from the driver, Waheed Sultan. Further investigation revealed that approximately 1.690 kilograms of charas powder was found at the residence of the absconding suspect.
A case under FIR No.35/2026 has been registered at Police Station Kunzer, underscoring the police’s ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related issues in the region.
In a separate incident, Jammu and Kashmir Police disposed of a live artillery shell discovered in the Kalgai forest area near the Line of Control. A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team was deployed to neutralize and dispose of the shell, ensuring public safety.
The area was secured, and precautionary measures were taken by the police team to prevent any potential hazards.
