The commercial LPG cylinder price in Bengaluru has reached an all-time high, prompting inevitable price hikes in food items at local restaurants. The price of a commercial gas cylinder was hiked by ₹993 on April 30.
The current price now stands at ₹3,152. This is the highest ever recorded.
P. C. Rao, President of the Bengaluru Hotels’ Association, stated, “A price hike in all food items in restaurants and eateries is inevitable.” This increase comes as commercial LPG cylinder prices have surged by ₹933, significantly impacting India’s small food businesses.
The government has shielded households from domestic LPG price rises. However, the economic strain is now felt through commercial kitchens and small enterprises.
This price hike occurs amidst the ongoing West Asia crisis, which has contributed to rising costs.
