Commercial lpg gas cylinder price

The government has implemented a record increase in commercial LPG prices amidst a global energy crisis. On May 1, 2026, the price of commercial LPG (19 kg cylinders) rose by an average of ₹993.

In Delhi, the price increased from ₹2,078.50 to ₹3,071.50. In Mumbai, it jumped from ₹2,031 to ₹3,024. The cost of 5 kg market-priced LPG cylinders also surged from ₹549 to ₹810.50.

Despite these hikes in commercial rates, domestic LPG prices remain unchanged. Global crude oil prices have surged sharply due to supply disruptions linked to tensions in West Asia.

Additionally, the price of bulk diesel has risen from ₹137 per litre to over ₹149 per litre. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that retail pump prices for petrol and diesel have been kept unchanged.

Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi remarked on the situation, urging people to compare global price increases. He noted that India managed to withhold increases to this extent.
