After 13 years of delays, Gautham Vasudev Menon’s film Dhruva Natchathiram has finally received clearance for release from the Madras High Court.
The film stars Vikram and has an estimated budget of Rs.80 Crores. The Madras High Court’s ruling comes after a prolonged struggle due to financial constraints and the Covid-19 pandemic.
Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy presided over the court order. The film’s revenue will be routed through an escrow account as per the court’s directive.
Gautham Menon expressed gratitude towards his legal counsel and the judge for facilitating the film’s release. He stated, “There’s light at the end of the tunnel.”
The film features a character named John, who leads a specialized unit formed after the Mumbai terror attacks. This unit comprises ten professionals tackling terrorism.
The production involved three cinematographers: Manoj Paramahamsa, SR Kathir, and Vishnu Dev. Editing was handled by Anthony, while music was composed by Harris Jayaraj with lyrics contributed by Thamarai and Paal Dabba.
The cast includes Ritu Varma, Radhakrishnan Parthiban, and Simran. Gautham Menon noted that this landmark order could serve as a benchmark for future films facing similar financial hurdles.
