FanCode has emerged as the exclusive digital home for the Indian Super League (ISL) for the 2025-26 season, while Genius Sports has made a staggering bid of ₹2,129 crore for a 20-year cycle linked to the league.
In contrast, FanCode has proposed an annual bid of ₹36 crore, featuring a 5 percent year-on-year increment. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) opened bids for the commercial rights of its club competitions, covering not just the ISL but also the Federation Cup, Indian Women’s League, and IWL 2.
The successful bidder will enjoy the right of first refusal, a significant advantage in the competitive sports media landscape. The agreement stipulates a 5 percent annual increment clause, reflecting a shift towards more lucrative deals.
Previously, the AIFF received a fixed ₹50 crore annually under its last agreement, highlighting the increasing financial stakes involved in sports broadcasting rights.
The upcoming ISL 2025-26 season is set to feature a total of 91 matches, with 14 clubs participating. AIFF Deputy General Secretary M. Satyanarayan expressed gratitude to the ISL clubs and Executive Committee members for their support in unveiling this Request for Proposal (RFP).
Historically, the AIFF faced challenges in attracting bidders, leading to a commercial deadlock that delayed the start of the ISL 2025-26 season. This latest bidding process marks a crucial turning point for the league.
As the bids are evaluated, observers are keenly watching how these financial commitments will reshape the landscape of Indian football broadcasting.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the final decision on the successful bidder, but the stakes are undeniably high for both FanCode and Genius Sports as they vie for dominance in this lucrative market.
