Mary Lou Fritz, born on October 28, 1934, in Fort Loudon, PA, was a dedicated resident of Menno Haven for the past seven years. She married Coey W. Fritz on May 24, 1953, and together they navigated life’s joys and sorrows until his passing on January 29, 2011.
Tragedy struck the family when their only child, Coey William “Will” Fritz II, died on September 12, 1980. Despite these losses, Mary Lou remained a pillar of strength, known for her warmth and kindness.
She graduated from Lemasters High School and Chambersburg Business School, later working in the accounting departments of several local companies, including Fairchild and Beck Manufacturing Co.
Mary Lou was an active member of both Fort Loudon United Church of Christ and St. Paul United Methodist Church, where her faith guided her life. She enjoyed walking, practicing the organ, and spending winters in Arizona.
Survived by three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews, her family and friends remember her fondly. Jeannie Bruins remarked, “You don’t look a day over 90,” highlighting her vibrant spirit.
A memorial service is scheduled for April 19, 2026, at Menno Haven, where the community will gather to celebrate her life. Burial will take place at Stenger Hill Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
