What the data shows
What’s the latest on the next gen Toyota Fortuner? The answer lies in the anticipated launch of the 7-seater version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, set to hit the Indian market by late 2026.
The new 7-seater Hyryder will feature a longer wheelbase and slightly revised dimensions compared to its 5-seater counterpart. This change aims to cater to the growing demand for spacious family vehicles in the rapidly expanding Indian SUV segment.
Under the hood, the expected powertrain options for the Hyryder 7-seater include a 1.5-litre petrol engine equipped with mild-hybrid technology, alongside a 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine. The strong hybrid variant is projected to deliver impressive fuel efficiency, estimated at around 25–26 kmpl.
Pricing for the Toyota Hyryder 7-seater is expected to range between ₹15 lakh and ₹25 lakh, positioning it competitively against rivals like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and the upcoming Maruti Grand Vitara 7-seater.
Safety features are also a priority, with the Hyryder expected to include six airbags, ABS with EBD, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in higher trims, ensuring a secure ride for families.
The surge in demand for 7-seater SUVs reflects a shift in consumer preferences, with families increasingly seeking larger vehicles for comfort and practicality. This trend is driving manufacturers to innovate and expand their offerings.
As the launch date approaches, details remain unconfirmed, but the anticipation surrounding the next gen Toyota Fortuner and its new variants continues to build. The automotive community is eager to see how these updates will reshape the competitive landscape in the SUV market.
