For the last two years, over 20 lakh students have been registering for the NEET UG exam, the sole gateway to undergraduate medical courses in India. Now, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the exam city intimation slips for NEET UG 2026, scheduled for May 3, 2026.
The exam will take place in a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm across 552 cities. Candidates can check and download their examination city intimation slip from neet.nta.nic.in using their application number and date of birth. However, it’s crucial to note that this slip is not the admit card.
“This is not the admit card for NEET UG 2026. It is only an advance intimation regarding the city where your examination centre will be located,” an NTA spokesperson stated. The official admit card will be released three to four days before the exam.
In 2024, a record 24,06,079 candidates registered for NEET UG, up from 20,87,462 in 2023 and 18,72,343 in 2022. The NEET paper will comprise 180 compulsory questions: 45 in physics, 45 in chemistry, and 90 in biology.
“NEET city slip is not the admit card which will be released later,” the spokesperson reiterated. This advance notice allows students to plan their travel and accommodation ahead of the exam.
As the exam date approaches, candidates are encouraged to stay updated on the release of the official admit card. Observers expect a surge in inquiries as students prepare for this critical assessment.
