A woman in Ghaziabad alleged that a Rapido bike taxi rider sent her inappropriate messages after a trip on April 20, 2026.
The woman shared screenshots of the messages and a video clip on Instagram.
The rider complimented her appearance and suggested meeting her the next day, stating, “Pehchaana nahi? Abhi toh drop karke aaya hoon (Didn’t recognise me? I just dropped you).”
Rapido issued a public apology for the driver’s conduct, calling it “unethical” and “completely unacceptable.” The company stated, “Rapido unequivocally condemns the incident reported in Bengaluru. The behaviour described is unacceptable and has no place on our platform.”
This incident raised concerns about user safety and the misuse of customers’ contact details.
Anushka blocked the driver after receiving the messages.
In a similar incident, another Rapido rider was arrested for allegedly molesting a woman passenger during a ride.
Concerns about rider conduct and user privacy have been raised due to this incident.
Rapido maintains it upholds a gold standard in safety with stringent onboarding processes for drivers.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding further actions taken against the rider involved in this case.
