Hostel food often becomes a topic of debate regarding hygiene, trust, and accountability. Recently, a student at the University Institute of Technology, RGPV, claimed to have found a lizard in his hostel meal, igniting a firestorm of controversy.
The incident unfolded when the student questioned an unusual object in his food, asserting it resembled a lizard. In a bizarre twist, a mess staff member insisted it was merely capsicum, even going so far as to eat the object to prove his point. “Shimla mirch hai yaar,” he declared, dismissing the student’s claims.
However, the student remained adamant, stating, “Yeh pahu hai iske. Chipkali hai, uski aankh nikal rahi thi,” referring to the object as a lizard with a visible eye. This shocking claim was captured on video, which quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.
In response to the uproar, RGPV has formed a committee to investigate the matter thoroughly. The canteen operator has denied the allegations, maintaining that the item in question was indeed capsicum.
RGPV Director Sudhir Bhadoria has assured students that their health will not be compromised, emphasizing that strict action will follow if negligence is found. “When your defence strategy is literally to ‘eat’ the crime scene,” observers noted, highlighting the absurdity of the situation.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding whether the object was actually a lizard or capsicum, leaving many in the community questioning the safety of their meals. As the investigation unfolds, students and staff alike are left anxiously awaiting the findings.
