Ravindra Jadeja recently joined Rajasthan Royals after a long stint with Chennai Super Kings. In a crucial IPL 2026 match held in Guwahati, Jadeja made headlines by dismissing Shivam Dube, who was expected to step up in the absence of MS Dhoni.
Chennai Super Kings struggled, bowled out for just 127 runs. Jadeja’s impressive bowling performance saw him take 2 wickets for only 18 runs in 3 overs.
Rajasthan Royals capitalized on the situation, chasing down a target of 128 runs with ease, winning by 8 wickets. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi starred in the match, scoring a blistering 52 runs off just 17 deliveries.
After dismissing Dube, Jadeja celebrated animatedly, reflecting on his time with CSK. “My main aim was to get him because his wicket at that time would have probably ended their hopes,” he stated.
Michael Hussey, commenting on the match, noted, “Jadeja is a wily character. He’s been around a long time, and it was a clever piece of bowling.” Hussey also expressed hope for Dube’s future performances, saying, “Unfortunately, today, it didn’t quite come off. Jadeja won the battle today, but hopefully Dube can win it next time.”
As the IPL season progresses, Rajasthan Royals will look to maintain their momentum. Their next challenge is against Gujarat Titans on April 4.
Details remain unconfirmed.
