Velmurugan Urges Expedited Flyover Construction in Chennai

Velmurugan highlights the urgent need to expedite flyover construction to alleviate severe traffic congestion affecting Chennai residents. Ongoing construction spans five locations along a 151-kilometer stretch from Padalam to Sengurichi. Traffic congestion occurs even on ordinary days due to this construction.

Velmurugan has urged for the expedited completion of the flyover work to alleviate traffic issues. He stated, “The construction work is proceeding at a snail’s pace.”

Tamil Nadu has a total of 4,974 kilometers of national highways. Out of this, 2,724 kilometers are under the control of the National Highways Authority of India. The Tamil Nadu government maintains 2,250 kilometers.
