Weather Meerut: Rain Alert Issued for 20 Districts

What does the latest weather update mean for Meerut? Rain is on the way, with alerts issued for 20 districts across Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut itself.

For the past week, the region has been experiencing rain, and today marks the start of a new Western Disturbance that is expected to bring more precipitation.

In Meerut, light drizzle has been reported, with the minimum temperature recorded at 17 degrees Celsius and a maximum expected to reach 28 degrees Celsius. Cold winds are blowing, contributing to the overall chill in the air.

Ten districts have already received light rain, while Sambhal experienced heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. The Meteorological Department warns that unstable weather will continue throughout the day.

Lucknow’s meteorologist Atul Singh noted, “Due to the effect of a very weak western disturbance, western UP is cloudy today.” He added, “A new spell of rain will begin across the entire state from March 26.” Rain is expected until the afternoon.

In terms of temperature, Lakhimpur Kheri recorded the highest at 33 degrees Celsius, while Kanpur was the coldest at 13.7 degrees Celsius. The fluctuating temperatures are indicative of the unstable weather conditions affecting the region.

The ongoing rain and strong winds have already impacted Rabi, Zaid, and horticultural crops, raising concerns among local farmers.

As meteorologists predict that the weather will remain the same for the next 48 hours, residents should prepare for continued rain and cooler temperatures.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the extent of the rainfall and its impact on local agriculture.
