Ashok Kharat, a self-styled godman and astrologer, is at the center of a disturbing investigation in Nashik, Maharashtra. The police have filed two additional rape FIRs against him, raising the total number of allegations to alarming levels.
Authorities claim Kharat is linked to five instances of human sacrifice, a revelation that has sent shockwaves through the community. The Nashik District Sessions Court has remanded him to five days of police custody as the investigation unfolds.
Assets worth approximately ₹40 crore have been uncovered, indicating a significant operation behind Kharat’s facade. He has reportedly traveled to 13 different countries, suggesting a far-reaching network.
During the investigation, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) recovered a revolver, 21 cartridges, and ₹6 lakh in cash from Kharat’s possession. This arsenal raises concerns about the extent of his criminal activities.

Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar has expressed concerns about Kharat’s possible involvement in human sacrifice and illegal hunting. Kharat, however, claims ignorance, stating, “I have no knowledge of snakes or tigers, I am hearing it for the first time.” This denial raises further questions about his credibility.
