Sudha Reddy dazzled at the Met Gala 2026 with her ensemble titled ‘The Tree of Life.’ This outfit uniquely blends traditional Indian craftsmanship and contemporary couture.
Reddy stated, “Hyderabad is not just my origin; it is a language, a rhythm, a way of being.” Her attire highlights motifs from Kalamkari traditions, showcasing rich Hyderabad culture.
The ensemble was styled in collaboration with Mariel Haenn and envisioned by Manish Malhotra. Sudha Reddy’s necklace features a remarkable 550-carat tanzanite valued at $15 million.
Reddy is an Indian billionaire, businesswoman, and philanthropist. She serves as the Director of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) Group.
She also holds a position on UNICEF’s International Council. Sudha has previously represented India at global events like Cannes and the United Nations General Assembly.
Kalamkari textiles have a rich history spanning over 3000 years. They function as narrative panels that convey mythology and devotion through cloth.
Reddy remarked, “What moves me most is the human touch behind it all. Thousands of hours, countless hands, generations of knowledge woven into a single moment.”
