In a shocking development, two individuals have been arrested and eight others booked for circulating obscene videos allegedly involving Ashok Kharat. The arrests come as the Maharashtra Police ramp up efforts to halt the spread of these disturbing materials.
Authorities have confirmed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is now probing the cases against Kharat, who was arrested on March 17, 2026. So far, six criminal cases have been registered against him, with the SIT uncovering a staggering 100 objectionable videos linked to the case.
The victims of these videos include a pregnant woman, raising serious concerns about the nature of the allegations. Police have warned the public against sharing any obscene material that could compromise the identities of the victims and their families.
Rahul Shinde, one of the arrested individuals, allegedly circulated an obscene video in a WhatsApp group. He received the video from Yogesh Adhav, who had obtained it from Sandip Garje. This chain of distribution has drawn significant attention from law enforcement.
“The case is sensitive and serious. People must refrain from sharing any obscene material that could reveal the identity of victims, their families or residences,” stated SIT officials.
In response to the ongoing investigation, the Maharashtra Police have issued a clear warning against sharing any photos, videos, or identifying details of the women abused by Kharat. Authorities have reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found engaging in such activities.
As the investigation unfolds, police have also urged individuals to delete any stored content related to the case. This comes amid reports that assets related to Kharat are estimated at ₹1,500 crore, and 21 live cartridges were seized during the investigation.
