BITS Pilani Achieves 45th Rank in Pharmacy and Pharmacology

BITS Pilani has achieved a remarkable 45th ranking in the QS Subject Rankings 2026 for Pharmacy and Pharmacology, marking a significant milestone for the institution.

This ranking is part of a broader trend where India secured 27 top-50 positions across 12 institutions, showcasing the country’s growing prominence in global higher education.

Leading the charge, IIT Delhi topped the list with six entries in the top 50, reflecting the competitive landscape among Indian universities.

In total, India added 20 new institutions to the QS Subject Rankings this year, bringing the total to 99 ranked universities. This surge indicates a robust improvement in the quality of education offered across the nation.

Moreover, 265 subject entries from Indian institutions improved their positions, a testament to the hard work and dedication of students and faculty alike.

However, the achievements come amid tragedy. Karan Narsimha Murthy, a student from BITS Pilani, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident when his bike collided with an empty fuel tanker.

The accident occurred near the KK Birla Goa campus in Zuarinagar, Sancoale, where BITS Pilani is located. This incident has cast a shadow over the institution’s recent accomplishments.

As the academic community mourns the loss, observers are left reflecting on the dual narratives of success and sorrow that define this moment for BITS Pilani.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding any further investigations into the accident or its implications for campus safety.

Nonetheless, the ranking achievement stands as a beacon of hope for BITS Pilani and Indian education as a whole, even as it navigates through this difficult time.
