The flight departed Hyderabad at around 3:30 PM, scheduled to land in Hubballi at 4:30 PM. However, the aircraft circled Hubballi for nearly an hour before the diversion.
It finally landed in Bengaluru at around 6:30 PM. Passengers experienced panic during the flight due to turbulence and adverse weather conditions.
A video showing distressed passengers went viral on social media. Fly91 emphasized that holding the aircraft and diverting it was part of standard operating procedures.
Reports suggesting a technical fault were described as false and baseless by Fly91. The airline stated, “There was zero compromise to safety.”
After deboarding in Bengaluru, 18 passengers continued their journey to Hubballi later that night. The return flight left Bengaluru at about 11 PM.
Such diversions are routine during poor visibility or unstable weather, prioritizing passenger safety over schedule adherence. Similar weather-related disruptions occurred in the region on the same day.
