The state government has decided to conduct official honors for the funeral of Dijo Kappan on May 4, 2026, in Kottayam. Kappan, a prominent public activist, passed away at the age of 68 after an extended illness.
Kappan died in a private hospital in Palai. He sustained injuries from a car accident in Thiruvananthapuram in October 2025. His wife was present during the accident when the brakes failed while bringing the car down from a parking level.
