In his recent address on Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tackled pressing global issues, particularly the ongoing petrol and diesel crisis stemming from conflicts in West Asia. He emphasized the need for unity among the 140 crore citizens of India during these challenging times.
“This is undoubtedly a challenging time. Through ‘Mann Ki Baat’, I once again urge citizens to remain united and overcome this challenge,” Modi stated, highlighting the importance of solidarity in the face of adversity. With over 10 million Indians residing in Gulf countries, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the support provided to them amidst the turmoil.
Modi pointed out that the region embroiled in conflict is a crucial hub for India’s energy needs, which has led to a global petrol and diesel crisis. “The region where the war is underway is a major hub of our energy needs, due to which a petrol and diesel crisis is developing worldwide,” he explained, urging citizens to refrain from politicizing the issue. “Those indulging in politics over this issue should refrain, as it concerns the interests of 140 crore citizens,” he added.
On a more positive note, Modi celebrated significant achievements within India. He praised the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team for clinching the Ranji Trophy after nearly seven decades, a momentous occasion for the region. Additionally, he highlighted the remarkable feat of Gulveer Singh, who became the first Indian athlete to complete a half-marathon in under an hour.
Environmental efforts also took center stage, with Modi announcing that over 2 lakh 51 thousand saplings were planted in Varanasi in just one hour, setting a new Guinness World Record. This initiative reflects the growing commitment towards sustainability and environmental conservation.
Moreover, the Gyan Bharatam Survey, aimed at collecting information about manuscripts across India, is set to continue until mid-June. This initiative underscores the importance of preserving India’s rich literary heritage. Over 12 lakh youth participated in the Budget quest organized by MY Bharat, showcasing the engagement of the younger generation in national development.
