RS Ambrish, a teenage all-rounder, has been signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad as a mid-season replacement for the injured Shivam Mavi. Mavi is ruled out of IPL 2026 due to a groin injury.
Ambrish was part of the India Under-19 squad that won the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2026. He was the joint-highest wicket-taker for India in the tournament, claiming 11 wickets.
Ambrish is a right-arm medium pacer and a left-handed batter. He will join Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 30 lakh.
He made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in October 2025. In his first-class outings, he has picked up 2 wickets and scored 43 runs.
The signing reflects Sunrisers Hyderabad’s strategy to bolster their squad amid injuries. Ambrish’s performance in the U19 World Cup has raised expectations for his role in the TATA Indian Premier League.
