The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is gearing up for the 2026 results preparation, with Class 10 results likely to be announced by mid-April. Over 43 lakh students who appeared for the Class 10 exams are eagerly awaiting their results, which may be declared anytime after the second week of April.
This year marks a significant change as CBSE has introduced a two-phase examination format for Class 10. The exams concluded on March 11, 2026, and schools have been instructed to upload internal marks between April 8 and April 17. This early timeline is being linked to the upcoming second phase of exams scheduled in May.
With strict checks in place, CBSE is confident in maintaining accuracy throughout the results preparation process. “Preparations have been completed with strict checks in place to maintain accuracy,” an official stated. Timely completion of this process is key to declaring results without delay, according to Sanyam Bhardwaj.
Students can access their results through official platforms such as cbse.gov.in and results.nic.in, as well as via DigiLocker, SMS service, and IVRS calls. For those who may not pass in one or two subjects, CBSE has announced that they will have another chance through compartment exams.
In addition to the Class 10 results, the Class 12 results are expected to be announced by the third week of May. This year, 18.5 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 exams, which wrapped up on April 10, 2026. CBSE conducted exams at 8,074 centres for Class 10 and 7,574 centres for Class 12, ensuring a wide reach for students across the country.
This is the first year CBSE has experimented with splitting the Class 10 board exams into two sessions. The move aims to alleviate pressure on students and provide them with more opportunities to succeed. As the results preparation continues, students and parents alike remain hopeful for a smooth and timely announcement.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact dates for the results, but the anticipation is palpable among the 25 lakh Class 10 students waiting for their scores. With the educational landscape evolving, CBSE’s approach this year reflects a commitment to adapt and improve the examination process for future generations.
