JEE Mains Rescheduled: Exam Date Changed

The JEE Main 2026 exam was originally set for April 5, but it has been rescheduled due to a conflict with Easter Sunday. This decision comes after significant appeals from students and community representatives.

On March 28, 2026, students will have the opportunity to request a change of exam date by emailing the National Testing Agency. The deadline for these requests is fast approaching, adding urgency for those affected.

The second phase of the JEE Main 2026 is scheduled to take place between April 2 and April 10, which includes the now-rescheduled April 5 date. Union Minister Suresh Gopi brought the issue to the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, highlighting the concerns raised by the Kerala Catholic Bishops Council.

Gopi stated, “The Centre has agreed to allow rescheduling of the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main 2026.” This response reflects the government’s willingness to accommodate the needs of students during this critical exam period.

The scheduling of the exam on April 5 had raised concerns among members of the Christian community, prompting the rescheduling decision. Affected students will now have the chance to shift their exam date, ensuring they can participate without conflict.

This development is significant for students preparing for one of India’s most crucial national-level entrance exams for engineering aspirants. The JEE Main plays a pivotal role in determining admission to various engineering colleges across the country.

As the exam date approaches, students are advised to stay updated on any further announcements from the National Testing Agency. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any additional changes that may arise.
