The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has set the stage for the 2026 academic year with the announcement of the Class 10 and Class 12 exam schedule. The theory exams will kick off on April 10, 2026, and will run until May 6, 2026.
Before the theory exams, students will undergo practical assessments, which are slated to take place from March 17 to April 1, 2026. This timeline is critical as students prepare to demonstrate their skills in various subjects.
Most of the theory exams will be conducted in the afternoon shift, typically from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. This scheduling aims to accommodate students’ needs and ensure optimal performance during the exams.

In a bid to enhance exam readiness, students will be granted 15 minutes to read the question paper before they begin writing. This extra time is designed to help students strategize their responses effectively.
Results are expected to be declared approximately seven weeks after the last exam, providing students with timely feedback on their performance.
