Ssc gov in: SSC GD Constable Exam 2026 Postponed

“The exam has been postponed, and new dates are yet to be announced.” This announcement has left many candidates anxious about the SSC GD Constable 2026 exam.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially postponed the exam, originally scheduled for February 23, 2026. The new exam dates are now set from April 27 to May 30, 2026, conducted in four phases.

In a bid to ease the uncertainty, candidates can select their preferred exam week between April 11 and April 15, 2026. However, it’s important to note that submitting a preference does not guarantee allocation to the chosen week.

“Candidates should continue preparation and utilize the extra time effectively,” officials advised, emphasizing the importance of staying focused during this unexpected delay.

With over 25,000 vacancies announced for the SSC GD Constable recruitment, the stakes are high. The selection process includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), and a medical examination.

The exam will cover objective-type questions in subjects such as General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English or Hindi.

More than 48 lakh applicants are expected to compete for these positions across 200+ cities, making it one of the most anticipated exams of the year.

As candidates await the release of their admit cards—expected to be available 3 to 5 days before the exam—they are reminded to check their exam city through the city intimation slip.

The postponement of SSC GD Constable 2026 may feel uncertain, but it also provides a valuable chance to improve preparation. Details remain unconfirmed regarding further updates.
